Redeemed Christian Church of God Overhauls Audio, Video and Lighting with AVG

When the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Victory Temple Laurel started their new construction project, they knew that they wanted to incorporate top-of-the-line audio, video and lighting systems to better serve their congregation. That’s where Audio-Video Group came in. This two-month project included three weeks of installation and provided the client with the equipment needed to improve the worship experience for the church.

It was important to RCCG that they had the ability to stream all of their worship services online, as well as distribute HD video throughout their new facility. With the installation of Blackmagic Design video production equipment, RCCG can now stream all of their services and provide complete audio and video distribution to overflow rooms within the church.

A 12,000-lumen digital projector was installed in the sanctuary to project high-quality video on screen. This also gives them the ability to display song lyrics, scripture and other worship aids for the entire congregation to see. Additionally, Mega Systems lighting fixtures were incorporated within the sanctuary to allow for proper lighting for video.

With a sanctuary that seats 350 people, it can be challenging to provide quality sound to each individual. The biggest challenge is that it’s too loud for people in the front, while the people in the back can’t hear anything. By using high performance, coaxial QX Series EAW speakers and processors, an Allen & Heath digital sound console and perfectly matched Lab.Gruppen amplifiers, AVG was able to install a sound system that delivers even sound to the entire congregation, no matter where you are sitting.

With the extensive systems that were installed throughout the church, at least seven people are needed per service to handle operations. This includes a person each for audio, lighting and video; a person to manage the displayed slides using ProPresenter; and three live camera operators for streaming.

This Nigerian church has dozens of sister congregations in the area, and while this was Audio-Video Group’s first project for the Redeemed Christian Church of God, we will hopefully be working with other local congregations in the future.
